The dual-branded concept creates enhanced and larger communal areas than what would be standard at a stand-alone property, benefiting both business and leisure travelers. The hotels feature The Lodge – a restaurant and lounge area for guests to meet, eat or just relax – as well as a shared lobby area, 24-hour fitness center and indoor pool for guests to unwind. The hotel also offers shared meeting space that can accommodate up to 100 people.
Over the years, the company grew to be a global, multifaceted luxury hospitality giant with 14 beach clubs, four hotels and resorts, a lifestyle division (including fashion boutiques and a magazine), special events and Nikki Cares, a 501c3 non-profit charity.
The resort also features four restaurants and bars, including a lakeside terrace for al fresco dining, a large spa with an indoor swimming pool and an outdoor floating pool on the lake.
For teenagers, there’s the supervised Teens’ Club at Grand Velas, featuring video games, a dance floor, karaoke, a bar with beverages and snacks, and what Vela referred to as a “killer sound system”.
